11月15日上午，IEEE-PELS主席，IEEE FELLOW Don Tan博士应阮新波副院长的邀请访问威尼斯欢乐娱人城官网3328电气工程系，并在智能楼四楼报告厅作了题为“A Quarter Century of IEEE Power Electronics Society”的学术报告。报告会由阮新波副院长主持，电气系老师和研究生积极参加了报告会。

报告中，Don Tan博士首先介绍了电力电子学科的发展历程以及回顾了IEEE-PELS学会成立25周年来发展历程和所取得的成就。Don Tan博士对电力电子的未来发展和研究方向进行了展望。在报告最后，Don Tan博士还以自己丰富的人生阅历给在座师生在求学教学道路和未来职业发展道路提了几点建议，鼓励大家积极参与国际学术组织与交流，在座的师生都从中受益匪浅。学术报告在热烈的掌声中结束。

Don Tan博士简介：

Dr. Tan is President of IEEE Power Electronics Society and Senior Staff Manager and Distinguished Engineer, Northrop Grumman Corporation. He is responsible for both control electronics and power converters product development. His portfolio is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. He earned his Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology and is an IEEE Fellow. He is an recognized authority in space power management systems. Don has served in many leadership positions within the power electronics society and is the recipient of numerous prestigious professional awards.
